Looking For a Few Good Developers

Hello, I'm Jason Pettys, the owner of Pettys Consulting. Research shows that the productivity of programmers of the same level of experience can vary by a factor of ten to one. See my State of IT page for details.

I truly believe this statistic. I've seen it myself. I've seen development environments where projects were taking years that should have taken months. After years the final delivery falls woefully short of expectation and need. The software is fragile and hard to use. It doesn't have to be this way, but it happens more often than not.

That's why I started Pettys Consulting. I want to work at a quality development shop with a team of top-level programmers -- people that love to cut code as much as I do, want to do a good job, and are eager to exceed customer expectations.

My software development methodology is based on agility, Extreme Programming, pragmatic development, and the belief that a few good developers can accomplish more than an army of average developers.
